Any cubensis will work well! People say PE and APE are more potent, but they take a lot longer and require more patience. I agree with the other poster about GT or B+ and then you can try PE once you are comfortable w the process. Mar 10, 2023 · The Uncle Bens Tek, as it's now called, can work and sometimes does. It's just that the likelihood of success (20-25% or less) is far lower than other tried and true methods. It was tried on The Shroomery some 10-15 years ago. Cultivators earnestly tried to get it to work as well the more traditional methods.
Uncle Ben’s is played out, the moisture levels are just way too much. I’d rather spend money on actual grain that’s gonna work out instead of gambling 50/50. I’ve had many bags work yes, but I’ve had a lot fail as well. Using micropore tape, re-seal the cut you made in the bag. Cut open the bag with a sterile blade. Flame sterilize the needle. Inject 1cc of spores or liquid culture. Guys I love Uncle Ben's Tek and especially this community for helping me get started in this hobby. But UB is so prone to contam at least 1 put of every 3-4 bags I've nocc'd up has resulted in contam (some salvageable some not).
