That's a good point. Even though Hydroid does improve with this rework in some ways, he won't be able to compete with the other armor strip frames. Armor strip works even on eximus enemies for the other warframes. Hydroid's corrosive stacks likely cannot armor strip an eximus though since his stacks should be blocked by the enemy's overguard.As a ex hydroid main (that still plays him occasionally) i think he needs a complete rework overhal. The only ability I think should stay are his 3, wich should be merged with his 2 and given the grendel treatment (does more damage per second, cant grab a ton of enemies and has better movement. It looks like Yareli and Grendel are getting relatively small tweaks… both of which I’ve asked for and am excited for. A fix for Grendel’s clunky cycling buffs, and a way to let Yareli shoot the enemies in her Riptide before it explodes. Yareli still needs a LOT more, but this is promising. Almost all my Hydroid builds have 100% ability efficiency, and the one that's at 45% has Nourish and Energy Siphon to make up for it. Ability duration is a self-explanatory benefit. Truth be told, I'd like one more of each of the three for full comfort (more casting speed still makes for a perceivable difference, 450 instead of 375 max energy ... Hydroid has a nice, broad niche as a tanky armor stripper now. His 1 no longer interferes with your gameplay, his 2 is basically Rolling Guard without a mod slot, his 3 is a nice damage buff that makes all enemy armor a non-issue and adds player armor at a good rate, and his 4 no longer makes enemies impossible to shoot. The others fan made reworks are too complex and would never be doable since it would cost DE to pratically do an entire new Warframe, but you managed to make him viable without really changing his abilities. I would add to the 4th that tentacles number imo must scale with rangeFull corrosive, yes. Saryn's 1 cause corrosive damage too, from the spores. But fully based on corrosive it's only him (makes sense, sea water is highly corrosive after all). Also, his new passive makes anything he hits once, be it with guns, melee or abilities, more vulnerable to corrosive damage from any source.
